What is your favorite food? Ribeye steak

What is your favorite exercise? Olympic lifts

Did you have any goals? How have you accomplished them? I have trained Brazilian jiu jitsu for over 10 years. I realized that I needed more resistance training to compliment my jiu jitsu training in order to avoid repetitive motion injuries. Since starting at Bodyshop Athletics X, I feel stronger and get injured much less.

I compete in Spartan races and my training at Bodyshop Athletics X has definitely helped with that activity too. The races are easier for me than ever before.

Why is working out important to you? What keeps you motivated to pursue health? Brazilian jiu jitsu and Spartan racing are both competitive activities and the training and instruction I receive at Bodyshop Athletics X has improved my performance in both.

What is one of your favorite or most memorable moments so far at Bodyshop Athletics X? There are too many to list. I work out with the 6:00 AM crew, also known as the Fun Bunch. There is never a dull moment with that group.

How would you describe your experience at Bodyshop Athletics X to a friend? Before settling in to the 6:00 AM class, I attended several classes with all the instructors. I never had a bad workout or experience. All of the coaches and staff are top notch and I always feel welcomed. The improvements in my performance in competitive activities has been significant. This is a great place to train whether it is to compliment other athletic activities or if this is your main exercise outlet.

Is there anything you would like to mention? I love the Olympic lifts and I would like to get enough people together for an adult barbell class. If anybody is interested, please let Jason know!

“Focused, driven, and a pleasure to work with. That's how I would describe Shayne. He's a part of our 6 AM group class which has deemed themselves, "The Fun Bunch." Shayne adds to the great dynamic of the class that includes guess that 80s rock band. In case you're wondering, Shayne has never lost! His knowledge of 80s hair bands is unrivaled. We also call him Mr. Adventure. His training prepares him for Spartan Races, Jujitsu, Sky Diving, and SCUBA Diving. One of the many things you can learn from Shayne is that consistency allows for continued progress!” - J.W.

Did you have any goals? How have you accomplished them? My goal was to get 6 out of 6 at youth nationals, and I did that by putting in the work.

Why is working out important to you? What keeps you motivated to pursue health? Working out is important to me because if later in life I want to become a dance teacher I have to be healthy and set a good influence on the younger dancers.

What is one of your favorite or most memorable moments so far at Bodyshop Athletics X? When we were having a Wii dance battle.

How would you describe your experience at Bodyshop Athletics X to a friend? I would say that this gym has a lot of friendly people and that sometimes we don't just work out we have some fun.

“How would you describe Kori, they asked...That girl has ice in her veins...lol. Her story at Bodyshop X is low key beast. Kori is not a person who makes a ruckus or you'll see in a crowd until it's time to perform. She comes in and gets her work done, no questions asked. When you look at her training, and you assume the session should be a grinder, there she is, straight faced killing the game! She had her first experience on the national stage and executed to perfection nailing every lift without wavering. As her coach, she's not only a joy to train and watch, but she's inspiring!” -J.W.

How she's grown! But she's still focused on what she needs to do to achieve her goal. When she comes in, she doesn't let anything stop her, and she's a joy to train. Bri's goal now...WEDDING DAY! How long have you been working out at Bodyshop Athletics X? 6 months

What is your favorite food? Gummy bears

What is your favorite exercise? Bench press

Did you have any goals? How have you accomplished them? My initial goals were to get back into a good workout routine, build strength, and regain some of the definition I've lost over the years. That soon changed to wanting to compete in bodybuilding. My goal for that was simply to look like I belonged on stage with the rest of the competitors. On May 4th, I competed in my first NPC competition and not only did I feel like I belonged, I was awarded 5th place in true novice men's physique.

Why is working out important to you? What keeps you motivated to pursue health? Working out is important because I truly enjoy doing it. I've made it a regular part of my life. I stay motivated by constantly setting new goals. When I achieve one I feel a sense of accomplishment which drives me to work harder on the next.

What is one of your favorite or most memorable moments so far at Bodyshop Athletics X? My most memorable moment so far was the day the idea of competing in bodybuilding was first mentioned to me.

How would you describe your experience at Bodyshop Athletics X to a friend? Simple...It's like being with family.

Is there anything you would like to mention? Huge thank you to all of the Bodyshop Athletics X family!

“Mike Smalls puts in work! That's what he does. His first goal coming in to train was to feel as athletic as he was in the past. It didn't take long before he was squatting 400+, Benching 300, and Deadlifting 425. After he was able to accomplish his first goal, he decided to pursue Men's Physique. Once we set the course, he was on his way. If you want an athlete who challenges you to be better because he wants to be better, Mike is that athlete. It's been a pleasure to be a part of his team and I look forward to the future!” -J.W.
